Safety

We strive to ensure complete safety at our site and in everything we do. This extends to customers, employees and all stakeholders. Protection from accident or injury is paramount in all we do. We work with ISN, OHSA and other safety certifications and organizations to be the safest landfill possible. We perform regular safety audits and reviews. We will not work if it is unsafe. We have strict and comprehensive employee training and guidelines.

We believe that building a safety-first culture extends to everything we do. The concern for people and the process oriented approach from our rigorous safety programs will positively affect every level of our organization.

Environmental

Landfills are first and foremost services for the community. We assume the environmental responsibility of waste disposal for our area and beyond. Our agreement with our community is to keep the air, water and soil safe and clean. There is no landfill business if we do not uphold this agreement. We take this responsibility very seriously and strive to meet and exceed all DEP, EPA and other regulatory standards.

Municipal solid waste landfills and construction/demolition landfills represent the most cost effective, environmentally safe methodology for the ultimate disposal of solid waste available today. This is true if we uphold our end of the agreement.

We believe in a process oriented culture that “stops the line” if safety or environmental compliance is at risk. Nothing is more important. We also work with the industry’s leading engineering and consulting firms to monitor our site and the surrounding area. We will continue to find the most rigorous and honest auditing firms for environmental compliance. We aim to have a perfect environmental record.

Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill, as a subsidiary of Noble Environmental Inc. is part of a larger effort to be a leading environmental services company. We plan to invest in renewable energy and fuels and make significant investments in our infrastructure to further reduce emissions. We also plan to invest in recycling services and to do more with our waste streams to increase reusability.

Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill is permitted as a Municipal Solid Waste landfill, facility ID (as issued by the PA DEP) 100277.
